Oracle E-Business Suite Documentation

Learning Oracle Products is always easy !! ..Oracle Technology Network(OTN) is something I have been using ever since its been introduced to learn about Oracle Products & reading articles about Oracle Products to enhance my knowledge.

Oracle Applications Documentation is available on OTN

For lot of people it feels like that documentation is too much to read sometime. But beleive me its the best way to learn any product. It gives you first hand information about what's being included in the software you are going to learn.

Off-course learning more than documentation is by using the product effectively & understand the functionality by experiencing it practically.

There are few things you must start with before you jump on advanced topics :

1. Oracle Applications Concepts
• This will provide you first hand information about concepts in Oracle Apps. It includes all the terms & topics you must know before you start your journey towards learning Oracle Apps. I would suggest to read this atleast once before you even see the Oracle Applications on a Machine !!
2. Oracle Applications Installation Guide: Using Rapid Install
• This is the documentation which you would read carefully before you Install the Oracle E-Business Suite on your Server. This will provide you all the information you need to install the Applications using Rapid Install on your respective Platform(OS). With Rapid Install, the Oracle Applications Installation is very fast & smooth !! ..If you follow all the pre-reqs, then you will find installation very easy to follow. Overall I have found that all the Oracle Products have very good installation mechanism !!

The above mentioned 2 manuals are the basic is what you need apart from Release Notes for the specific install you are installing. The are some more things you need to access using Oracle Metalink in order to have more information about your installation & any new notes being published about any issues or enhancements.

I will cover some more topics at conceptual level to start learning Oracle Apps in more structured way !!
